Today I had to be up at Corona Airport anyway to give my buddy Jon a ride back to Brackett, so I stopped into Aircraft Spruce and picked up the initial batch of aluminum prep chemicals:

Metal Prep Chemicals

On the way home, I hit Harbor Freight and picked up a bunch of other stuff I needed, including an inexpensive touch-up spray gun ($22.99 is the cheapest I've found anywhere), some clamps, another pair of safety goggles for my wife Jen, etc. I priced up a bench grinder and a cool bench combo belt/disc sander. Both are inexpensive, and I'll probably end up getting the combo to start. The disc sander is fixed in place with an attached table. I'm thinking this would be great for smoothly and perpendicularly grinding down stiffener edges, etc.

When I got home, the preview plans set had arrived. They consist of a huge, thick 3-ring binder with TONS of information. Granted, the drawings are scaled down to fit in here, but this is theoretically enough information to build with. Can't wait to see the full-size drawings.
